Gem City Jewels
Laramie, Wyoming
The Gem City Jewels group
was formed in 1985 as a community service to
enhance the Jubilee Days
of Laramie, Wyoming.
Since then, the Jewels
have gone on to perform in different events around the
state of Wyoming, including
rodeos, parades, and fairs.
In 1989, 1991, and 1992,
the Jewels placed first in the Wyoming State Fair
Precision Riding competition.
In 1996, the Jewels were featured on Good
Morning America, when
they sang the opening song.
In 1992, 1999, and 2000,
the Jewels won the best riding group in the
Cheyenne Frontier Days
parade.
It takes dedication and
determination to be a member of the Jewels. Each
year, the group creates
and performs a new and challenging pattern.
Membership is available
to all who have an interest in horses and average
riding ability, however,
there is an application process.
