Cascade Cowgirls
Clackamas County, Oregon
The Cascade Cowgirls are a women's drill team and have been riding together since 1997 when two teams merged and ride out of the southeast Portland area. The average number of riders is 12 and they range in age from 18 to 50 years. They ride Western discipline in both performance and competition and are a member of the Oregon Women's Drill Team Association.
Open tryouts for new members
are held during the months of October and November. New members are
voted in by the current members in good standing based on their horsemanship
and ability of their horse. Interested perspective members outside
of open tryouts are taken on a case-by-case basis.
